The Aerosol and Particulate Research Laboratory focuses on the measurement, characterization and control of aerosols and particulate matter to address critical challenges in air quality, environmental and occupational health, and emerging aerosol threats. Its interdisciplinary research combines advanced instrumentation, modeling and analysis to help protect human and environmental health.

The Particle Measurement & Technology Laboratory (PMTL) applies advanced aerosol measurement and particle technology to study the environmental, health, and climate impacts of aerosols. The lab develops novel techniques to analyze particle formation with high sizing resolution, track the evolution of transient particles with high time resolution, and enhance air quality monitoring through a more robust network.
